What got you started in photography?

My children! I became interested in photography when we welcomed our first child. I wanted to preserve every moment and every detail as our little one grew. I began collecting images with a point and shoot camera, however I soon realized that I wanted more control over the creative aspects of my photographs. I purchased my first DSLR camera two years ago, took a course to learn how to use it and have been taking one photograph every day ever since.

What got you started in photography?

My son is what got me started. My husband and I struggle with infertility and when it settled in that our son is probably the only child we will get I decided I needed to do a better job at documenting his childhood. Not just for him.. but for myself as well.

If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?

If I wasn’t a photographer I think I’d like to do something in nature.  I’m not exactly sure what that would be but I love being outdoors.  I think I would love to have a career that would incorporate that love.  Perhaps lead mountain guided hikes.

What got you started in photography?

I picked up my first camera as therapy for depression. This was about 15 years ago. I thought it would help me get outside, slow down, and enjoy the little things. Not only did it do all that but it also allowed me to capture the everyday moments in my babies lives!

What got you started in photography?

I’ve always been a lover of moments. A sensitive soul. An observer. Since I was a kid I always loved to preserve my here and now, connection, friends, beautiful scenes and details. But it wasn’t until 2008 that my heart pushed me towards photography. As I sit here and write this, I honestly cannot remember the instance that made me pick up the camera. (Now I’m dying to remember!) But I am so glad I did.
